We left our little house in Japan at 8:30AM (Japan time) on 23 DEC 09 and arrived at Flounder's parents' home on 23 DEC 09 at 9:30PM (Florida time) after 35+ hours of travel. Aloysius was such a trooper and made us very proud parents.
Our trip itself was not so bad but it started out pretty bad. There was a disconnect somewhere between the base's travel agency and the main Northwest Airlines and we were informed that Hairpin did not have a ticket! We ended up buying his ticket on the spot and were lucky at least he has a seat from his reservation. That being said we stood at that counter for almost 3 hours until this was all resolved! We were one of the first in line and one of the last to board :( Then, we landed in Atlanta late and rushed to our connecting flight with 10 minutes to spare. However, we found out that we were too late. Delta had already booked us on a later flight. What they did not tell us was that the later flight was already full and we were standby...we found that out when we got to the next gate:( Luckily we did make it on. The landing of this one flight was the only time our little Aloysius was fussy through out the entire trip. Yes...Flounder and Hairpin were beaming with pride:)
These holidays Hairpin, Flounder and Aloysius were blessed to be surrounded by their loving family!
I'll get some pictures up when I have the chance, but it may not be until we are back in Japan next year!

Wow....no ticket. That's crazy. I hope the ticket wasn't horribly priced. Enjoy your trip.
