After many conversations about child care and looking at our options, an answer to our needs literally knocked on our door one and a half weeks ago. To make a long story short, a space opened up in an infant room at a child development center on base. I had heard nothing but good things about the caregivers in this room so I decided to put in an application. Being civilians on a military base I figured the chances of getting a spot were next to slim. But nonetheless I persisted. Two days after submitting my paperwork I was called and we got the spot. I felt like I had won the lottery that day! But now that it has come time to leave Alejandro there I am super restless. Tomorrow is his first day. He will be spending 3 hours there in the morning. I packed all his little things and he is all set. But Mommy is not so ready for this :( Luckily Hairpin is cool, calm and collected which makes things a little easier. As parents we can only hope we make the best decisions we can...and I guess it starts sooner than you think!
Here's hoping Aloysius enjoys his first day at day care and that Mommy survives!!!!

I completely understand. I've been thinking about that for a while now. We'll have to put Ebi in day care when he's about 3 months which I think is way too soon but it's not like I can quit working. It's very stressful. He's not even here yet and I can't imagine leaving him with a stranger. It's funny how babies can change everything.
I know and remember that feeling, Patty! I am positive he'll be just fine - it's always roughest on Mommy - but one you're comfortable with him being there it will be smooth sailing. :)
