As most folks know, Hairpin is in the midst of getting an Executive Master's in Public Administration. His second semester in the program starts next week. So we decided to make the best of our last "family Saturday" in a long while. We started out at the Toys R Us in Times Square which is Aloysius' favorite place to play. We had fun walking around and as usual when it was time for lunch, we checked out the line to the Ellen's Star Dust Diner. It is a retro 1950's theme restaurant located on the southeast corner of 51st Street and Broadway in NYC. The staff is a "singing staff." The line is usually very long, but on this cold rainy day it was rather short so we decided to wait. About 10 minutes later we were in!
Flounder put some moist napkin in little Sushi's ears because it was pretty loud.
Aloysius enjoyed watching the wait staff singing
Life is good!
It sure is;)
From Times Square we took a stroll up to the Bethesda Terrace in Central Park at the 72nd Street traverse. There was an ice festival going on!
Hairpin fed Sushi hi bottle while little A napped in the stroller.
They were making a mini replica of Flounder's favorite fountain!
Sleepy head woke up very happy.
Since the fountain was dry, he had a lot of fun climbing all around.
Sushi was very content after eating..
and began cracking up when he was bare bottom in the cold getting a very poopy diaper changed!
Flounder loves this developmental phase when babies are sitting on their own but not moving much. It makes for great photo ops!
As we were leaving the park, little A said to us, " I wish I was a part of NYC." Hairpin reassured him that it is possible that one we will come back. But Aloysius said, "No. I mean I wish I could be a part of the city. Like the road, or the grass." We just looked at each other. Hairpin chuckled, "how poetic." Some times I would love to be in that little brain of his!
