Last night there were two of us who actually took up the hospital's generous offer...an acquaintance of ours from the Latin American Club on base and myself. My favorite OBGYN nurse was there and the three of us chatted from about 9:45PM...when the hubbies left :( until 11:30PM...which is like pulling an all nighter for me. It was so great to share pregnancy and delivery ideas which such positive women.
And the best part of it all is that I had the opportunity to help coach my room mate through her early labor...from about 5:45AM until 10:30AM when her hubby arrived. It was an amazing experience and I loved every minute of it...just wish I had more energy to give! I learned a lot and was excited to share it all with Eric when he arrived:) By now...I'm sure her little baby girl was born and I am sooo excited to meet her tomorrow!!!!!
This experience left me truly bewildered at the wonders of our bodies as women. While I was showering late that morning all I could think to myself is how beautiful the process of giving birth actually is....truly amazing:)
I know it is going to be hard work and painful, as I witnessed just the beginnings today...but nonetheless...I am now starting to look forward to the process.
In the meanwhile, Aloysius is still warm and cozy in my belly for the time being.
