He fell right on his shoulder this morning and cried quite a bit, but a few minutes later seemed fine. Flounder, Hairpin and Aloysius were gone all day in the city and did not get back until after Sushi was sleeping.
The next morning, Flounder and Sushi hung out reading books and snuggling before Flounder headed to work. Hairpin and Aloysius enjoyed Elections' Day off. Upon Flounder's return home, she was informed that Sushi was not himself, cried every time he fell and his neck hurt to touch.
Putting on the Physical Therapist cap, Flounder re-visited the exact mechanism of injury with the Abuelos and palpated Sushis' collar bone. It was very tender to touch and swollen. Poor little guy. We took him to see his amazing pediatrician, Dr. Selber, and she sent us for an x-ray which confirmed a small fracture:(
He is a tough little guy and in good spirits. Luckily Flounder knows exactly how to bandage him in order to align his shoulders for optimal healing posture. Here's to a speedy recovery!
